Deep Work

Problem

We got used to being constantly distracted by notifications and messages (Whatsapp, Messenger, Facebook, emails, etc.). This severely harms our productivity, focus, and creativity.

Solutions

  • Schedule “time chunks” for “deep work” = 45min-90min of complete uninterrupted focus on a task.
  • To avoid distractions, turn off all notifications on your laptop, put smartphone on “flight mode”.
  • If you must have the smartphone available because of an important phone call (e.g. expecting a delivery), put it far from you or in a different room, so you don’t get tempted to check it.
